I’m a painter of cultures. I like to tell the story of countries that are far away, voyages that connect people without a language. Without having to read, we look at colors, what’s expressed on the canvas and we understand. It helps build bridges.
Morocco, Peru and Cuba; their people and way of life are key in my inspiration and visual narrative. Everything from music to how people dress, catches my attention, so I feel compelled to draw it. My dream is to travel the world with my sketchbook, and have conversations that shift the way we think. Then in the studio, I develop my studies into paintings with my original photography and research.
I like to layer my mediums depending on the texture and colours I wish to convey. The playful mix of oil, acrylic and collage helps me achieve my unique viewpoint and start a conversation.
